Skills for Life

Since 1955 we have been offering fun, challenge and adventure to members aged between 4 and 25 in the Wythenshawe area.

Welcome to 409th Manchester Scout Group

Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers.

Yes, we go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing. But we also get to hang out with our friends every week – having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges.

Our thriving and active Scout Group has a dedicated leadership team who produce exciting and dynamic programmes for young people in the area, our adult volunteers help our youth members to shape their own adventure by working in teams, thinking for themselves and learning through participation as well as having plenty of fun along the way!

It’s exciting being involved with us. We believe that through everyday adventure, young people regularly experience new challenges that enrich their lives and meet lifelong friends through Scouting.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
